3 Alarm Fire - Rochester, NY 5/5/10
May 5, 2010 - City of Rochester firefighters were called to the scene of a building fire on Sherer St. just before 6:00 p.m. First arriving companies reported flames through the roof, and the fire quickly grew to 3 alarms. An interior attack was attempted but conditions forced crews to withdraw and fight the fire defensively. The vacant building formerly housed the American Laundry Factory, and has been the scene of several multi-alarm fires over the years. Fire crews remained on scene dousing hot spots and conducting overhaul into the early morning hours of May 6th. This fire is being investigated as an arson.
