2 Alarm Fire - Rochester, NY 1/31/12
January 31, 2012 - Rochester firefighters responded this afternoon for multiple calls reporting heavy, black smoke from a house on Dartmouth St. The first arriving company reported heavy fire showing from the 'B' side of the house and after making entry, the interior attack team was met with fire on all 3 floors of the structure. A second alarm was struck bringing extra manpower to the scene, and all interior crews were ordered out of the building due to deteriorating conditions. During the fire, most of the roof collapsed in on itself but firefighters prevented it from spreading to any of the adjoining houses. The fire took several hours to bring under control but there were no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians.
