House Fire - Hamlin, NY 6/26/12
June 26, 2012 - Walker firefighters responded for several calls reporting a house fire on Greenwood Parkway just before 10:30pm. The first arriving firefighter reported a house fully involved with an exposure problem. Crews performed a "surround and drown" as the house was already a total loss and focused their attention to saving the exposures. Several trees around the home were scorched due to the heat and flames. Firefighters from Hamlin, Morton, Hilton and Spencerport all responded to assist at the scene. It's believed that the homeowners were out of town and the house was empty at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported to firefighters or civilians. The fire was under control in just under an hour and the cause is being investigated by the Monroe County Fire Bureau.
