House Fire, Queensland Dr., Gates 8/13/14
August 13, 2014 - Firefighters in Gates were dispatched for the reported house fire just after 2:30 p.m. today. While en route, dispatch advised there were multiple calls so an engine company from the Ridge Road FD was dispatched as the RIC (Rapid Intervention Crew). Upon arrival, a working fire was declared with a report of heavy fire on the first floor. Due to the amount of fire in the structure, firefighters executed a defensive attack and had the fire knocked down in about 40 minutes.
According to Gates Fire Chief Jim Harrington the residents were at home and self evacuated prior to the fire departments arrival. No injuries were reported and the house is considered a total loss. Crews from Rochester, Spencerport and Chili Fire Departments covered the empty Gates stations for the duration of the fire.
