St. Paul firefighters along with an engine each from Ridge-Culver and Point Pleasant responded for the report of a house fire on Dewey Ave. The first arriving Chief reported heavy smoke from the house and declared a working fire. Crews made an aggressive interior attack and were able to knock the fire down in about 30 minutes. However, due to the construction of the house crews inside on the second floor were forced to deal with pockets of fire behind the knee walls. Sea Breeze FD also responded to the scene after initially being dispatched as a fill in company. According to St. Paul FD Assistant Chief Nicholas Masterton, all four occupants of the home were able to escape and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Monroe County Fire Bureau.
